Dr. William “David” Irvine obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Irvine completed his Ophthalmology residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He then completed a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the University of Miami. While in college, Dr. Irvine received induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During his time at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Dr. Irvine was Chief Resident/Clinical Instructor. He has published many papers and produced many presentations on various topics in ophthalmology. Dr. Irvine is Board Certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Tennessee Association of Ophthalmology, and the Memphis Eye Society. Dr. Irvine sees patients at our Jackson location for evaluations and retinal procedures.
